Eye movement desensitisation and reprocessing (EMDR)

Eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR therapy) is a form of psychotherapy that employs rapid eye movements to overload a client’s working memory and enable them to reprogram their minds.

Move beyond the original trauma.

This allows you to move beyond the original trauma. Many people experience emotional healing that is so effective it leads them to feel differently about the past, with a sense of freedom and relief. You may then put everything in perspective while seeing how they are now compared to back then.

You Don't have to talk about your trauma in detail

People who have experienced trauma may find it difficult to talk about their experiences. EMDR can be beneficial for these clients because it does not require them to discuss their trauma in detail.

EMDR is a highly effective treatment for PTSD

EMDR is a highly effective treatment for Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), and many people experience emotional healing that allows them to move on from the past without going over it in lengthy talk therapy appointments.

What's laser treatment?

Photobiomodulation laser treatment involves the use of infrared and near-infrared light to treat specific regions of the body, which helps to promote, protect, heal, and energize cells on a cellular level.

What happens in your first appointment?

During your first visit, your laser therapist will choose the most suitable treatment for you, which might include:

  • Systemic Photobiomodulation Laser Therapy
  • Transcranial Photobiomodulation Laser Therapy
  • Auricular Acupuncture Laser Therapy
Systemic Photobiomodulation Laser Therapy

A wrist-based laser therapy treatment consists of a laser being attached to your arm. Near-infrared light goes through the skin and targets the bloodstream to aid in improving circulation.

It is a simple, soothing procedure that only requires you to sit back for a short time. Many individuals report feeling light and refreshed after the whole body treatment.

.

Transcranial Photobiomodulation Laser Therapy

A transcranial laser therapy session will start with the laser being held gently against your head. The infrared and near-infrared light penetrates the scalp and skull, aiming for specific regions of brain tissue.

After only one or two sessions, many individuals report an increase in their mental health.

Neuro auricular laser therapy

Neuro auricular modulation is a treatment based on the stimulation of acupuncture points on the ear. These points are believed to be connected to specific parts of the body and brain, as well as specific mental health conditions, such as trauma.

How does it help?

When targeted with a laser, the infrared and near-infrared light facilitates the healing process for the associated issues. Many people will find that their mental health begins to improve after only 1-2 sessions.

EMDR and neuro auricular modulation

EMDR therapy is one of the absolute best treatments for individuals who have defense mechanisms because of a lack of dual attention or dissociative disorders. These are among the most serious challenges facing EMDR clinicians. Neuro-auricular methods can assist to improve dual focusing and self-regulation while avoiding the risks of continuing with EMDR therapy in the event dissociation is detected.

Typical EMDR Therapy Session

Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) consists of eight phases: history taking, preparation, assessment, desensitization, installation, body scan, closure, and reevaluation.

During the history-taking phase, the therapist will ask about the client’s past experiences with trauma and any current symptoms they are experiencing. The therapist will also explain how EMDR works and what to expect during treatment.

The preparation phase is designed to help the client feel safe and comfortable during treatment. The therapist will teach the client some relaxation techniques to use during the session if needed.

Next, the therapist will assess whether EMDR is right for the client by asking about their specific trauma and any memories or thoughts that are associated with it.

Treating Trauma

EMDR treatment is an effective way to treat posttraumatic stress disorder – PTSD symptoms, acute stress disorder, and traumatic memories. The American Psychiatric Association and the World Health Organization both recommend EMDR therapy as a first-line treatment for PTSD. EMDR treatment can help people with PTSD to process and integrate their traumatic experiences, which can lead to a decrease in physical sensations and a reduction in symptoms.

Eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR) helps people heal from the symptoms and effects of traumatic events. EMDR therapy can help reduce the intensity of trauma memories, and improve anxiety disorders, and chronic pain.
